What you need
Calypso Coral color from Stampin’ Ups!® Subtle colour family is our focus and I have gone with Basic White cardstock heat embossed with a flower image from the Quiet Meadow stamp set before sponging a calypso coral and pale papaya background.
And how lovely does calypso coral and pale papaya look together?
Finally, I stamped a sentiment from the Quiet Meadow stamp set in basic grey and a pale papaya ribbon tied with a bow completes the card.
Calypso Coral Color Sponged Background Card Recipe
It really is a simple card to make. Read the instructions below or watch the tutorial on my YouTube Channel.
- Begin with a Basic White standard card base.
- Ink up the bunch of flowers from the Quiet Meadow stamp set with versamark and stamp onto a 10.5 cm x 14.8 cm Basic White card front.
- Sprinkle white embossing powder over the stamped image.
- Use a heat gun to set the embossing powder.
- Tack a rectangular mask over the embossed flower image.
- Ink up a sponge with calypso coral ink and starting from the bottom outside, moving in circles, start to sponge ink half way up the flower image.
- Apply more calypso coral sponging making the base darker and turning lighter towards the middle.
- Ink up a sponge with pale papaya and starting from the top outside, moving in circles, start to sponge ink meeting the calypso coral.
- Apply more pale papaya sponging making the top darker.
- When happy with the background remove the mask to reveal a beautiful sponged area that makes the bunch of flowers really pop.
- Stamp the sentiment in basic grey.
- Tie a bow in the pale papaya ribbon.
- Secure to the card front with a glue dot. Secure the tails to the card front and tack behind.
- Corner punch the corners of the card front and the card base.
- Adhere foam adhesive to the card front and adhere to the card base.
