Today’s card features an stripy alcohol marker background and inset die cuts to create this cute handmade wedding card.

I have made a few cards using inset die cards but it looks like I never got around to blogging them! To rectify this omission the inset die technique would look amazing using the wave dies, so I’ve put it on my list of Must Make!

I am joining in with the Art With Heart Team’s Colour Creations Blog Hop with this beautiful alcohol marker striped background wedding card.

The Berry Burst colour is from Stampin’ Ups!® Bright colour family is our focus and I have gone with the die inset cardmaking technique.

This gorgeous technique is when you die cut images from the background paper, mount the die cut with dimensionals and then adhere back into the inset. The effect is delightful!

How gorgeous are the scattered flowers over the background?

What You Need

• Stamps/Bundles: Sentimental Park
• Inks: Berry Burst Stampin’ Blend and ink pad, Gray Granite Stampin’ Blend, Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend, Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blend
• Paper: Basic White
• Other: Give It A Whirl, Sentimental Park, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine, Stampin’ dimensionals, multipurpose glue

Alcohol Marker Striped Background Card Recipe

1. Begin with a Thick Basic White card base (29.5 cm x 10.5 cm).
2. Cut a piece of Basic White 14.3 cm x 10 cm.
3. Using Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers, alternate colours to create stripes across the Basic White layer.
4. Position the Give It A Whirl love heart in the centre of the striped background piece and die cut. Repeat two more times, top and bottom.
5. Adhere the striped background piece to the card base.
6. Mount the top heart with dimensionals and adhere back into the inset. Repeat with the bottom heart die cut.
7. Stamp the sentiment inside the middle heart inset.
8. Using the Sentimental Park dies cut several different sized flowers from Basic White cardstock.
9. Adhere randomly over the striped background.
10. Adhere the leftover heart and a couple of flowers to the inside of the card.
