Halloween Cupcake Toppers Using Have A Hoot Set

These Halloween cupcake toppers are such a hoot {smile}. Whooo’s with me? Whooo’s going to throw a little h-OWL-oween party? Are you getting in the mood? I know I am!

Did you know that October is ‘owl month’? It makes sense, October being Halloween and all. Owls are nocturnal animals and they can be pretty spooky with those adorable great big owl eyes and a very quiet wing flap in flight. Let’s not forget that eerie ‘hoo hoo’ sound they make too!

If can’t tell already I love owls! I just love that every year Stampin’ Up!® has a stamp set that features an owl. It didn’t take much coercion that I had to own that set! The Have a Hoot bundle is a total MUST HAVE. This week I’ll move on from the Halloween makes and start on my Christmas makes. I don’t want to give it all away, but you will want to check out November’s posts for ideas on using this stamp set for Christmas cards, packaging and small gifts. Check out this gorgeous Pocket Treat Bag that would wow any trick-or-treater stopping by!

Halloween Cupcake Toppers

Don’t be fooled by the detail and intricacies of these Have A Hoot Halloween cupcake toppers. They are really easy to make! You could make a set of three in under 30 minutes – easily!

Halloween Cupcake Toppers Instructions

First, gather together silver, black and whisper white card stock. Select a Halloween patterned paper for the back of the topper.

Select light black, dark & light Soft Suede, dark Mango Melody, dark & light Pumpkin Pie and the colour lifter of the Stampin’ Blends.

Prepare the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine and have the Peek A Hoot dies ready.

Using the punches Label Me Lovely and Everyday Label punch out three labels from black cardstock. Punch three more from your chosen Halloween patterned paper.

On Whisper White stamp the Have A Hoot images in Memento ink.

Die Cut

Using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine die cut the three coloured owls, spider and moon.

Die cut the cobweb from silver card stock three times.

Adhere the cobweb to the Basic Black labels just off-centre to the left or right.

Each large owl is adhered to the centre of the label. Adhere the moon.

The small owl is adhered off centre and the spider adhered onto the cobweb.

Add a few iridescent pearls to the label and one as the spiders body.

Attach a topper stick or tooth pick to the rear of the label and cover with patterned paper.
