Hello! I’ve snuck in some crafting on a recent long weekend and the Hearts & Home Cards & Envelopes card bases made the perfect canvas for some mini farewell male cards.
Moving away from the red dust and mud flats, where it was only possible to swim at high tide to the fine white sand beaches of home, has got me thinking of all things aquatic.
Middle son is back to sailing which inspired me to play with the Let’s Set Sail stamp set and punch bundle.
I paired the Let’s Set Sail stamp set with the Hearts & Home Memories & More Cards & Envelopes card pack and created this farewell male card using the mini cards.
The mini cards are sized 8.3 cm x 10.8 cm and have a wood grain design already printed onto them. I think that wood grain and the sailing boat are a match made in heaven!
Using a template and the Stamparatus I stamped the sailing boat image in Balmy Blue. I could then simply punch the entire image out.
On a 7.8 cm x 10.3 cm piece of Basic White card stock stamp the background image in Night of Navy to represent water. [TOP TIP: to lighten the ink colour, stamp it off onto scrap paper before stamping onto your card stock]
In Balmy Blue stamp the sentiment in the top right corner and use Night of Navy to stamp the birds in the top left corner.
Adhere foam adhesive strips to the back of the punched out sailing boat and sails. [TOP TIP: cut strips to fit behind the mast and along the hull]
Place the hull and mast in your desired position on the sea background.
Adhere the sails.
Turn the card base to landscape orientation, so it opens up from the bottom, and adhere your layer to the card base with multipurpose glue.
