Christmas Fishing Theme For A Unique Card

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects to inspire you for a handmade Christmas. We hope our blog hop inspires you to get creative and make some fabulous Christmas creations.

As we wait for the September to December mini-catalogue to be released, I thought I would show you an idea I had using a stamp set from the Annual catalogue – Gone Fishing.

I love playing around with stamp sets and seeing how versatile I can make it. I thought those floats would look perfect as baubles!

At the time I had Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Berry Burst ink pads on my desk, so that’s what I stamped the ‘baubles’ in, onto Basic White card stock.

Using the Nested Essentials dies I die cut two labels from Granny Apple Green and Basic White. The sentiment comes from the Celebrate With Tags stamp set. Those cute little sprigs are from the Timeless Arrangements dies.

A gold trim bow finishes off the card.

And inside the card…

  1. What a fantastic idea Amie, I love it! Love the colour choices and they really do look like Christmas baubles! Perfect for anyone but a fisherman what a great card this would be for Christmas!

  2. Amie, I’ve seen a few cards now using these floats as baubles, but yours is the brightest and most “festive” I’ve seen! Love the colour combination and the layout, it makes me feel so Christmassy.

  3. Oh how clever Aime. The fishing floats look great as Christmas baubles and you have used bright and happy colours to create a lovely Christmas card. Do you know a fisherman that you could give the card to at Christmas – I’m sure he would really appreciate it. x

  4. Very inventive Amie. The fishing ‘bobber’ looks just like an ornament. Love your choice of colour palette too. Very bright and cheery.

  5. Oh, Amie this is totally adorable! I love that you have used the float to resemble Christmas baubles, and the colour selection is perfect. A great card for that lovely part of the Aussie coast you live in!
