By incorporating elements like sand dollars, seashells, and ocean hues into our cards, we can bring that tranquil beach vibe right into our loved ones’ hands.

Choosing the Moody Mauve Colour Combination

When it comes to creating a beach-themed card, it’s essential to choose colours that evoke the beauty of the ocean while adding an element of intrigue. That’s why we’ve opted for a moody mauve colour combination. Picture deep purples blending seamlessly with soft pinks – it’s like watching the sky at sunset over a calm sea.

Now, let’s dive into the exciting part – stamping sand dollars! Start by gathering your materials: Blackberry Bliss ink pad, sand dollar stamps, Moody Mauve cardstock, Seaside Wishes embossing folder and gold trim.

Begin by inking up your large sand dollar stamp with the Blackberry Bliss ink pad. Make sure to cover the entire stamp evenly for a crisp and vibrant impression. Now, carefully press the stamp onto Thick Basic White cardstock, applying gentle and even pressure. Lift it off, and stamp again without re-inking. Voila! You’ve just stamped two sand dollars with different colour tones.

Repeat this process with the smaller sand dollar, creating an arrangement of sand dollars that will make your cards truly unique. Experiment with different sizes and orientations to add visual interest and create a dynamic composition.

Adding Personal Touches and Embellishments

To take your beach-themed greeting cards to the next level, don’t forget to add those personal touches and embellishments that make them truly special. Place a piece of Moody Mauve card stock into the Seaside Wishes embossing folder and run through a Cut & Emboss machine. Use the Seaside Wishes dies to cut a sand dollar and paper tear a piece of the embossed card stock to create a strip. Paper tear a blank strip of Moody Mauve card stock and stamp the ‘sand’ image in Blackberry Bliss all over it.

Stamp a sentiment on a Basic White banner in Blackberry Bliss. Adhere the embossed sand dollar, Moody Mauve paper torn strips and the sentiment banner to the card front.

Finish the card by stamping the inside with a Blackberry Bliss sand dollar and a sentiment.

And what better way to do it than with a mesmerizing colour combination like Misty Moonlight? So, grab your favourite cutter and adhesive, because we’re about to embark on a creative journey that will leave you feeling inspired and connected.

Get ready to unleash your creativity and learn how to create a beautiful card that is truly one-of-a-kind!

The Misty Moonlight Magic

Now, let’s talk about the star of our show – the Misty Moonlight colour. This stunning shade of blue is reminiscent of a moonlit night sky, casting an ethereal glow on everything it touches. It perfectly captures the essence of calmness and tranquility that we associate with the ocean. So, gather your Misty Moonlight cardstock, reinker, and patterned paper because we’re about to create some magic!

🐚Dive Into Design🐚

  1. Start with a blank Thick Basic White portrait tent fold card and a piece of Misty Moonlight card base (14.8 x 10.5 cm). This will serve as your canvas for creativity.
  2. Cut out a mat from the Country Woods patterned paper and adhere to the Misty Moonlight card base. Cut a panel piece from the Country Woods and an extra piece for a banner. Cut another mat from Basic White card stock and emboss with the Seaside Wishes embossing folder, before ink splattering. Cut an extra piece for a sentiment banner, stamp sentiment in Lemon Lime and ink splatter.
  3. Stamp the sea dollar image tone on tone in Flirty Flamingo. Die cut to create a focal point on your card. Stamp three sea stars in Flirty Flamingo on Basic White card stock. Don’t forget to stamp twice without reinking, you will get four images this way.
  4. To add depth and interest, smoosh watercolour paper in Lemon Lime ink and Sea Foam ink. Allow to dry before stamping and die cutting leaf images from Beauty of the Deep and Textured Florals dies.
  5. Finish off your design by adding Crumb Cake twine wrapped around a patterned paper panel. Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card.

Nautical Colour Combination

To truly transport your recipient to the seaside, consider using the triadic colour combination of Misty Moonlight, Lemon Lime and Flirty Flamingo. Using the Stampin’ Up! Colour wheel has made choosing colour combinations as easy as sun bathing on a tropical island.

Another time-saving tip is organizing our supplies. By keeping everything within reach and neatly arranged, we’ll spend less time searching for that perfect embellishment and more time crafting our masterpiece.

Craft A Stunning Fun Fold Christmas Card with Fresh Freesia and 3D Stars

Today, I’m going to show you how to create a fun fold Christmas card using the vibrant fresh freesia color and adding a touch of magic with 3D stars. Get ready to unleash your creativity and make beautiful cards that will leave your loved ones in awe!

I am joining the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team in the Fresh Freesia colour hop, where you will find 10+ creative card ideas!

Materials You’ll Need

Before we dive into the step-by-step process, let’s gather all the materials you’ll need for this crafty adventure:

  1. Cardstock in fresh freesia color
  2. Patterned paper with coordinating colours
  3. Paper trimmer
  4. Multi-purpose Adhesive
  5. Bone folder (optional, but it helps with crisp folds)
  6. Sweetest Star punch and Sweetest Star stamp set

Now that we have everything ready, let’s get started on creating our masterpiece!

Step 1: Folding the Card Base

Take your fresh freesia-colored cardstock and cut it into a long rectangle measuring 8 inches by 11 inches. Then score

Burnish your score lines and adhere the tab to the other end of the rectangle, resulting in a hexagonal box shape!. Adhere two pieces of card stock to either side of the box.

Step 2: Adding Festive Patterned Paper

To make our card pop with Christmas spirit, grab your patterned paper and cut six 4 cm x 4 cm squares. Adhere these pieces to each section between the score lines, leaving a small border around the edges for a polished look.

Step 3: Creating the 3D Stars

Now it’s time to bring some magic to our Christmas card with 3D stars! Take another piece of patterned paper and use your Sweetest Star punch to create a star. On Basic White card stock stamp the Santa image and then punch out. Punch another star from the Basic White card stock.

Score the patterned paper star from point to valley, all the way around the star. Stamp a sentiment on the Basic White card stock and repeat the scoring process. Apply two dimensionals to the centre of each scored star and adhere to a strip of window sheet. Adhere to the floating tabs inside the card base.

Step 4: Colour and Embellish Santa

Let’s add a personal touch to our Christmas card! Grab co-ordinating Stampin’ Blends to colour Santa. Stamp Santa on masking paper and cut masks for his head area, belt, hands and shoes. Apply the masks to the coloured Santa and ink up the snowflake image with White Craft ink and stamp onto Santas suit. Set aside to dry or use a heat gun to hasten the drying process.

Punch Santa with the Sweetest Star punch. Do not score and adhere to the rear right side.

Step 5: Sending Holiday Happiness

Congratulations! You’ve successfully created a stunning fun fold Christmas card using fresh freesia color and 3D stars. Now it’s time to spread some holiday happiness by sending it off to someone special. YES! It fits into a standard size envelope!

Imagine their delight when they receive this unique handmade creation in their mailbox! It’s not just a card; it’s a token of love, creativity, and thoughtfulness that will warm their hearts during this magical season.

Bringing the Ocean to Life: Stamp, Colour, and Create an Enchanting Coral Reef Card!

Hey there, fellow paper crafters! Today, I am beyond excited to share with you a fun and vibrant project that will surely bring a smile to your face. In this blog post, we will be diving into the world of papercraft to create a stunning Crushed Curry colour birthday greeting card for my seven-year-old grandson. Picture this: two stamped dolphins frolicking around a bright coloured paper coral reef. Let’s get started!

Materials You’ll Need

Before we begin our creative journey, let’s gather all the necessary materials. Here’s what you’ll need:

  1. Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Shy Shamrock coloured cardstock
  2. Basic White cardstock
  3. Friendly Fins stamp set and die bundle
  4. Basic Grey and Memento Black ink pads
  5. Trimmer
  6. Multipurpose Adhesive glue
  7. Dimensionals
  8. Embellishments

Step 1: Creating the Card Base

To start off our project, grab the Shy Shamrockcoloured cardstock and fold it in half to create the card base. This vibrant shade of green will serve as the perfect backdrop for our underwater scene.

Step 2: Stamping the Dolphins

Now, let’s dive into the world of stamping! Take out your Friendly Fins stamp set and select the adorable dolphin stamp that captures the playful spirit of our project. Ink up the stamps with Basic Grey ink pads in, and carefully press them onto a separate piece of white cardstock. Ink up the body stamp image with Basic Grey ink and carefully stamp inside the dolphin outline.

Step 3: Creating the Coral Reef

Ah, the coral reef – a vibrant and bustling underwater world! With your Friendly Fins die set in hand, choose a variety of coral designs in different shapes and sizes. Grab your Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo and Shy Shamrock card stock and die cut the reef, coral and seaweed. Ink up the rock stamp with Basic Grey, and stamp onto Basic White card stock. Ink up the rock fill stamp with Early Expresso, stamp off onto a piece of scrap paper before stamping inside the outline. Using Crushed Curry markers hand colour the coral attached to the rock and then die cut using your Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine. Let your creativity flow as you build a colourful and whimsical coral reef that will transport anyone who sees it to an enchanting underwater paradise!

Step 4: Adding Colour to the Scene

Now that we have our dolphins and coral reef, it’s time to add some life to our scene! Take out your Memento Black ink and stamp the fish. Colour with Crushed Curry markers before using the die to cut out. On a 10 cm x 6.8 cm piece of Basic White card stock, die cut the bubbles in the top right hand corner. Using a blending brush and Summer Splash, gently blend from the bottom edge up to the top, creating a beautiful oceanic backdrop. The blending from dark to light will mimic the movement of water, allowing the colours to blend seamlessly together.

Step 5: Assembling the Card

Once you are satisfied with the colours and vibrancy of your underwater scene, die cut out the dolphins and emboss an 8.5 cm x 12.8 cm Basic White piece of card stock with the Swirl embossing folder. Now, it’s time to bring everything together! Using adhesive glue, attach the Summer Splash blending brush piece to the embossed layer. Assemble your coral reef on top of these layers. Place images strategically to cover the straight line of the coloured card stock behind the coral reef. Finally, adhere the dolphins so they look as though they are frolicking above the reef.

Step 6: Adding Finishing Touches

To complete our masterpiece, let’s add some finishing touches! Choose a birthday sentiment stamp that convey your heartfelt wishes for your recipient. Stamp them onto a separate piece of 10 cm x 14.3 cm Basic White card stock and adhere to the inside of your card.

If you want to take your card to another level of sparkle and shine, feel free to add some embellishments like sequins or rhinestones. These little details will make your card truly stand out and add an extra touch of magic!

Wintery Nests Delight: Transform Your Cards with Cooper Clay Colour Card Bases!

💌 Hello, lovely crafters! 💌

I am joining the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team in the Cooper Clay colour hop, where you will find 10+ creative card ideas!

Today, I am thrilled to share with you a card-making project that is close to my heart. As we approach the one-year anniversary of my dad’s passing, I wanted to create something special to honor his memory. Join me on this emotional journey as we delve into the world of cooper clay color card bases, nests of winter patterned paper, and the wintery nests stamp set. Let’s create a heartfelt Thinking of You greeting card that will surely touch your loved ones’ hearts.

✨ Step 1: Gather Your Supplies ✨

To start this meaningful project, gather the following supplies:

  1. Cooper Clay Color Card Base: The rich, earthy tones of this cardstock will provide a warm and comforting backdrop for our winter-themed design.
  2. Nests of Winter Patterned Paper: This collection features delicate snowflakes, gorgeous birch bark and foliage, and whimsical birds – perfect for creating a winter wonderland on your card.
  3. Wintery Nests Stamp Set: These beautifully designed stamps will add depth and detail to our card. From birds perched on branches to versatile sentiments, this set has it all!
  4. Natures Linen Thread: Choose luxurious linen thread in beautiful colours to add texture to your card.

Step 2: Setting the Scene

Begin by cutting a piece of the cooper clay color cardstock to create your card base. Fold it in half and ensure that the crease is crisp and neat. This step symbolizes the strength and resilience we find in cherished memories.

Next, select a piece of the nests of winter patterned paper. Cut it slightly smaller than the card base and adhere it to the front using your favorite adhesive. As you do this, imagine the quietness of a glade in the forest with only birdsong to break the silence.

🌲 Step 3: Bringing Nature to Life 🌲

Now, let’s bring our wintery scene to life! Take one of the papers from the Nests of Winter patterned paper and cut out a rectangular piece featuring a bird. Cut another larger rectangle to back the first piece. Adhere together and mount with dimensionals. Gently tussle a few lengths of the linen thread and secure to the card front with adhesive. Mount your image over the top of the thread.

Stamp the sentiment in Memento Black ink and then cut into two pieces. Adhere to the card front. As I was doing this I allowed myself to reminisce some of the special moments I shared with my dad. Particularly remembering those walks in the crisp winter air beside a countryside stream as we fished for trout or helping him build a cozy fire.

✨ Step 4: Finishing Touches ✨

To add an extra touch of elegance, consider embellishing your card with delicate pearls or sequins. I choose the glimmer gems from the 2024 September to December mini-catalogue. These small details will elevate your design and add a touch of sparkle.

Once you are satisfied with your creation, take a step back and admire its beauty. Feel proud of what you have accomplished, not only as a paper crafter but also as someone who has poured their heart into creating a meaningful tribute.

Now that your Thinking of You greeting card is complete, take a moment to write a heartfelt message inside. Although I was thinking of my dad as I made the card, it is my mum who will be the recipient of this card. Express your love, support, and appreciation for the recipient. Bring the Beach to Your Cards: Mastering the Blending Brush Technique with Coastal Cabana

Are you ready to dive into the world of papercrafting? Today, I want to share with you a step-by-step guide on how to create a stunning beach-themed birthday card using the vibrant Coastal Cabana color with blending brushes. Get your creative juices flowing and let’s embark on this exciting journey together!

Speaking of colour, in this colour hop you’ll find 10+ simple and creative card ideas using Coastal Cabana. Certainly everything you need to inspire your next crafting session!

1. Gathering Your Supplies

Before we begin, let’s make sure we have all the necessary supplies at hand. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Coastal Cabana and Basic White cardstock
  • Beach Day Stamp Set
  • So Swirly embossing folder
  • Blending brushes
  • VersaMark ink pad
  • Embossing powder (white)
  • Heat tool
  • Summer Splash and Pretty In Pink ink pad
  • Memento Black ink pad
  • Adhesive
  • Paper snips

Once you’ve gathered all your supplies, find a quiet space where you can let your creativity soar!

2. Setting the Scene

To start off our beach-themed birthday card, create an A-Frame card base with Thick Basic White card stock. Then cut cut a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock to the same size as the card base. Place inside the So Swirly embossing folder and run through your embossing machine. This will serve as the base for our masterpiece.

Next, take the Lifesaver Cabin image, ink it up with Versamark and stamp onto a square piece of Basic White card stock. Don’t forget to add a seagull image too! Sprinkle embossing powder over the stamped image, making sure to cover all the inked areas. Gently tap off any excess powder and use a heat tool to melt the embossing powder until it becomes shiny and raised.

3. Bring the Lifesaver Cabin To Life

This adorable stamp will bring a touch of whimsy to your design. To make it really pop, ink up your blending brush with Summer Splash and gently apply ink in circular motions from the bottom of the stamped cardstock. Then ink up another blending brush with Pretty In Pink and gently apply ink in circular motions from the top of the stamped cardstock.

As you watch the image appear before your eyes, imagine yourself strolling along the sandy beach, feeling the warm sun on your skin.

5. Finishing Touches

Mount the coloured image on a piece of Basic White card stock and adhere to the card front. Stamp your sentiment in Black Memento ink, cut with scissors and adhere with dimensionals to the card front.

6. Personalize Your Message

Now that our beach-themed birthday card is complete, it’s time to add a heartfelt message for the lucky recipient. Let your creativity flow as you pen down warm wishes and words of love. Remember, this card is not just a piece of paper; it’s a keepsake evoking beautiful seaside memories and emotions.

7. Share Your Creation

Imagine being transported to a tranquil beach, where gentle waves lap against the shore and the sun casts a golden glow on everything around you. That’s exactly how I felt when I first laid eyes on the Sea Turtle stamp set. It instantly captured my heart with its intricate designs and whimsical charm.

This stamp set features a small and large sea turtle reversible image. These stamps allow you to create breath-taking scenes that truly come alive on your cards. The attention to detail is remarkable, capturing the essence of these magnificent creatures in every stroke.

But it doesn’t stop there! The Sea Turtle stamp set also includes an array of coordinating elements such as sea stars, seaweed, bubbles and fish. These additional stamps add depth and dimension to your creations, making them feel like a mini underwater paradise.

Now that we have our sea turtle friends ready to make a splash on our cards, let’s talk about the perfect backdrop for their aquatic adventures – the Starry Sky colour.

The Starry Sky color is incredibly versatile. You can use it to create a serene ocean scene, with the sea turtles gracefully gliding through the depths. Now that we have our Sea Turtle stamp set and Starry Sky colour ready to go, let me share a tutorial on how to create this elegant sea turtle keepsake card.

What You Need

Cut your card stock into pieces.

Orchid Oasis Card Stock:

  • Card base – 14.8 cm x 10.5 cm

Basic White card stock:

  • Layer – 12.8 cm x 8.5 cm
  • Sentiment – 8 cm x 1 cm
  • Scraps to stamp large Sea Turtle and Sea Stars

Starry Sky card stock:

  • Layer – 13.8 cm x 9.5 cm
  • Sentiment layer – 8.5 cm x 1.5 cm

Elegant Sea Turtle Keep Sake Card

  1. Burnish the fold of the Orchid Oasis card stock with a bone folder.
  2. Stamp the reverse of the large turtle stamp in Mossy Meadow ink onto basic white card stock. Then using the Baby Wipe Technique (using colour combination Mossy Meadow ink refill, Early Expresso ink refill and Pumpkin Pie ink refill) stamp the large sea turtle image onto the Mossy Meadow image.

  4. Stamp the reverse of the small and large sea stars in Pumpkin Pie ink onto basic white card stock. Then stamp the small and large sea star images onto the Pumpkin Pie image.
  5. Fussy cut the sea turtle and sea star images.
  6. Stamp the basic white card stock layer with the Drizzling Droplets background stamp in Starry Sky ink.
  7. Adhere the stamped layer to the Starry Sky card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  8. Stamp the sentiment in Starry Sky ink onto the basic white layer and adhere to the Starry Sky layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  9. Wrap the stamped layer five times with twine, as shown.
  10. Using foam dimensionals adhere the sentiment over the wrapped twine.
  11. Adhere the sea turtle and the sea stars to the stamped layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  12. Adhere the Starry Sky card stock to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Embellish. Add a few touches of bling.

Personalise. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere patterned paper to the outside flap of an envelope.

Showcase. Once you’ve completed your masterpiece, it’s time to showcase it in all its glory! Consider framing your card as wall art, allowing its beauty to brighten up any room. Alternatively, pair it with a handwritten note for a heartfelt gesture that will surely bring a smile to someone’s face. Remember, each card you create is a work of art deserving of admiration and appreciation.

  1. Burnish the fold of the thick Basic White card stock with a bone folder.
  2. Adhere the Blackberry Bliss card stock to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  3. Adhere the 12.8 cm x 8.5 cm patterned paper to the Blackberry Bliss card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  4. Adhere the banner to the patterned paper with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
