Let’s start by talking about this adorable stamp set from Stampin’ Up! Online Exclusives. The Fluffiest Friends set is packed with the cutest critters you’ve ever seen! From fluffy bunnies to a cute little bird, these stamps are perfect for creating cards that are both charming and heartwarming.

Guy Birthday Card Inspiration

Now, let’s talk about creating a guy birthday card using the Fluffiest Friends stamp set. We all know how challenging it can be to find the right design for male recipients, but fear not! With a little creativity and some clever techniques, we can make a card that any guy would love.

First, let’s focus on the colour palette. Cajun Craze is an excellent choice for a masculine card as it exudes warmth and strength. Using Cajun Craze as the primary colour, I created a warm and rustic background for my card. The rich tones of Cajun Craze added depth and character to the overall design. I paired it with a neutral shade Mossy Meadow and a little splash of Crushed Curry for a sophisticated look.

Next, consider incorporating geometric patterns into your design. You can achieve this by using patterned paper in your card layout. But wait! Don’t waste any precious paper – I have used a no-waste pattern paper template!

Adding Extra Flair

To make your card even more special, consider adding some extra flair. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Dry Embossing: Add texture and dimension to your card by dry embossing only part of the card base.
Die-cutting: Incorporate die-cut shapes that complement the theme of your card, such as the tree-ring image (fussy cut) and the bear.
Unique card front: I haven’t changed the card size but I have cut a section of card stock away from the card front.

Remember, the key is to make the card reflect the recipient’s personality and interests. Let your creativity run wild!

Create Elegant Sea Turtle Keepsake Card

Imagine being transported to a tranquil beach, where gentle waves lap against the shore and the sun casts a golden glow on everything around you. That’s exactly how I felt when I first laid eyes on the Sea Turtle stamp set. It instantly captured my heart with its intricate designs and whimsical charm.

This stamp set features a small and large sea turtle reversible image. These stamps allow you to create breath-taking scenes that truly come alive on your cards. The attention to detail is remarkable, capturing the essence of these magnificent creatures in every stroke.

But it doesn’t stop there! The Sea Turtle stamp set also includes an array of coordinating elements such as sea stars, seaweed, bubbles and fish. These additional stamps add depth and dimension to your creations, making them feel like a mini underwater paradise.

Now that we have our sea turtle friends ready to make a splash on our cards, let’s talk about the perfect backdrop for their aquatic adventures – the Starry Sky colour.

Now that we have our Sea Turtle stamp set and Starry Sky colour ready to go, let me share a tutorial on how to create this elegant sea turtle keepsake card.

What You Need

Cut your card stock into pieces.

Orchid Oasis Card Stock:

Card base – 14.8 cm x 10.5 cm

Basic White card stock:

Layer – 12.8 cm x 8.5 cm
Sentiment – 8 cm x 1 cm
Scraps to stamp large Sea Turtle and Sea Stars

Starry Sky card stock:

Layer – 13.8 cm x 9.5 cm
Sentiment layer – 8.5 cm x 1.5 cm

Elegant Sea Turtle Keep Sake Card

Burnish the fold of the Orchid Oasis card stock with a bone folder.
Stamp the reverse of the large turtle stamp in Mossy Meadow ink onto basic white card stock. Then using the Baby Wipe Technique (using colour combination Mossy Meadow ink refill, Early Expresso ink refill and Pumpkin Pie ink refill) stamp the large sea turtle image onto the Mossy Meadow image.

Stamp the reverse of the small and large sea stars in Pumpkin Pie ink onto basic white card stock. Then stamp the small and large sea star images onto the Pumpkin Pie image.
Fussy cut the sea turtle and sea star images.
Stamp the basic white card stock layer with the Drizzling Droplets background stamp in Starry Sky ink.
Adhere the stamped layer to the Starry Sky card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Stamp the sentiment in Starry Sky ink onto the basic white layer and adhere to the Starry Sky layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Wrap the stamped layer five times with twine, as shown.
Using foam dimensionals adhere the sentiment over the wrapped twine.
Adhere the sea turtle and the sea stars to the stamped layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Adhere the Starry Sky card stock to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Embellish. Add a few touches of bling.

Personalise. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere patterned paper to the outside flap of an envelope.

Showcase. Once you’ve completed your masterpiece, it’s time to showcase it in all its glory! Consider framing your card as wall art, allowing its beauty to brighten up any room. Alternatively, pair it with a handwritten note for a heartfelt gesture that will surely bring a smile to someone’s face. Remember, each card you create is a work of art deserving of admiration and appreciation.

Getting Crafty With Blueberry Bushel Ink

The Blueberry Bushel colour is from Stampin’ Ups!® Regal colour family, a returning colour favourite during the Stampin’ Up! colour refresh. It is a vibrant, eye-catching shade of blue and is becoming a firm favourite of mine! In today’s card I have used Blueberry Bushel cardstock and stamped the sentiment with it.

Design Ideas for Father’s Day Cards

There are quite a few different options in the 2023 – 2024 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue for making cards for the special men in our lives. From the nature loving guy to the gamer, and everything else in between.

Step-by-Step Tutorial: Creating a Father’s Day Card

What you need:

Stamps/Bundles: Let’s Go Fishing Suite Collection
Inks: Blueberry Bushel ink pad
Paper: Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper
Other: Alphabet A La Mode dies, 2-3/8″ circle punch, Multipurpose glue, Paper Trimmer

Father’s Day Fun Fold Card Recipe

Begin with a 30 cm x 30 cm piece of patterned paper. TIP: a pattern without direction works best.
Score the sheet at 5 cm, 10 cm, 20 cm & 25 cm.
Cut the whole sheet in half (15 cm), perpendicular to the score lines.
Put one aside to make another card later.
Mark on both short sides with a pencil at 3.8 cm. Line this mark up in the trimmer with the SECOND score line on both sides (10 cm and 20 cm) and slice off two triangles.
Adhere a 14.5 cm x 9.5 cm piece of Blueberry Bushel to the middle inside of the patterned paper.
Stamp a 14 cm x 9 cm piece of Basic White cardstock at the top with a Father’s Day sentiment in Blueberry Bushel and a fish image at the bottom. Adhere to the Blueberry Bushel cardstock layer.
Fold your triangle pieces along the score line, fit over the front folding card opening on one side and adhere. Repeat on the other side.

Sliding closure

Punch 4 Basic White circles. Score two down the middle. Fold each one in half.
Using a full circle, adhere one of the folded circles to one side of the circle. Repeat with the other folded circle on the other side.
Adhere the final circle to the top, sandwiching the pieces together.
Decorate the slider with alphabet letters and an image from the Gone Fishing stamp set.
Carefully insert one side of the card front sides into the middle of the circle slider. Repeat on the other side. The card front is now ‘locked’ closed and the slider will need to be moved up or down to be removed and the card can be opened.

How To Make Gone Fishing Fun Fold

Today’s card features a Gone Fishing fun fold using the Gone Fishing stamp set and coordinating patterned paper ‘Let’s Go Fishing’. Pecan Pie is a new Stampin’ Up! Core colour and today’s post is the final showcase of the new core colours.

The Pecan Pie colour is a new addition to Stampin’ Ups!® Neutrals colour family and is our focus for today’s hop.

I have gone with a fun fold card that opens to reveal another card on the inside. The ‘Let’s Go Fishing’ patterned paper adds interest in the background, whilst a pop of blue ties the card together.

What You Need

Stamps/Bundles: Gone Fishing
Inks: Old Olive, Grey Granite
Paper: Misty Moonlight, Old Olive, Pecan Pie, Let’s Go Fishing patterned paper, Basic White card stock
Other: Nested Essentials dies, Twisted Rope 3D embossing folder, Bakers Twine

Gone Fishing Fun Fold Card Recipe

Begin with a Pecan Pie card base (16 cm x 14.8 cm) and score at 10.5 cm to make a half fold card.
Cut a piece of Pecan Pie (5 cm x 14.3 cm) and emboss with the Twisted Rope embossing folder.
Cut a two pieces of Let’s Go Fishing patterned paper (5 cm x 14.3 cm).
Adhere the embossed Pecan Pie to the small front opening.
Adhere the patterned paper to the back of this card opening and on the inside back of the card base.
Cut a piece of Basic White 20 cm x 13.8 cm. Score in half.
Cut two pieces of Basic White 11.3 cm x 7.5 cm and two pieces of Misty Moonlight 11.8 cm x 8 cm.
From Old Olive card stock cut two different sizes from the Nested Essential label dies.
Stamp the Happy Father’s Day sentiment with Grey Granite on the Basic White card base, ensuring it opens from the right (opposite to normal).
On one piece of Basic White card stock stamp four fly images in Grey Granite and splatter Grey Granite ink over the card stock. Put aside to dry.
On the other piece of Basic White card stock stamp a fish image. Adhere both stamped Basic White card stock to the Misty Moonlight card stock
On the Old Olive labels stamp the sentiments.
Adhere the fish image layer to the Basic White card base, ensuring it opens from the right (opposite to normal). Adhere this card base to the inside back of the Pecan Pie card base. Complete the inner card by adhering the smaller Old Olive label, ensuring it doesn’t go past the Misty Moonlight layer.
Line up the fly stamped layer with the fish stamped layer and adhere to the front card opening.
Tussle a 30 cm length of Bakers Twine and adhere to the back of the larger Old Olive label, then adhere to the card front.

How To Emboss Resist Construction Zone Boy Card

Making this emboss resist construction zone boy card for my grandsons birthday had me playing with Stampin’ Up! inks, watercolour paper and heat embossing.

I am joining in with the Art With Heart Team’s Colour Creations Blog Hop with this Azure Afternoon emboss resist construction zone boy card.

The Azure Afternoon colour is a new addition to Stampin’ Ups!® Bright colour family and is our focus for today’s hop.

I have gone with a waterfall cardmaking technique using emboss resist to create my own patterned paper.

The waterfall cardmaking technique is where the bottom edge (or right edge, in my card) is pulled and carefully placed layers of cardstock flip over, like a magical book with self-turning pages!

The emboss resist technique is when you white heat emboss an image and then you will apply colour over the top of the embossed image. The effect is delightful!

How gorgeous is all the hard hat man holding the balloons?

What you need

Stamps/Bundles: Construction Zone, Biggest Wish
Inks: Azure Afternoon, Daffodil Delight, Versamark
Paper: Water colour paper, Azure Afternoon
Other: Embossing tool kit, White embossing powder, heat gun, Water painters, Multi-purpose liquid glue

Emboss Resist Construction Zone Boy Card Card Recipe

Begin with a Azure Afternoon card base (29.5 cm x 10.5 cm).
Score at 9.5 cm, 10.5 cm, 11.5 cm, 12.5 cm, 13.5 cm and 14.5 cm.
Cut five (5) 10.5 cm x 10.5 cm Azure Afternoon squares and five (5) 10 cm x 10 cm watercolour paper squares.
Cut an 8 cm x 10.5 cm Azure Afternoon and 7.5 cm x 10 cm watercolour paper.
Cut a 15 cm x 10.5 cm watercolour paper.
Embossing images: On three (3) 10 cm x 10 cm watercolour paper, the 7.5 cm x 10 cm watercolour paper and the 15 cm x 10.5 cm watercolour paper, remove static, ink up sentiments with Versamark and stamp onto the centre. Apply white embossing powder to the sentiment and use heat tool to set.
Ink up images from Construction Zone stamp set with Versamark and stamp all over the 10 cm x 10 cm watercolour paper. Have fun with this!
Apply white embossing powder over images and heat set.
Watercolouring: Lie your pieces of watercolour paper on the table and thoroughly wet the watercolour paper. I used the thick brush in the water painters and a glass of water to apply the water.
Add a few drops of Azure Afternoon reinker onto a stamp block and using the second thickest brush apply from the centre of the watercolour paper, brushing out towards the edges.
You can brush the Azure Afternoon over the top of the images or you can brush to the embossed edges and avoid going over the top of an image. I did it both ways, so I could get a green colour on certain images or a nice clean yellow on other images.
Add a few drops of Daffodil Delight to a stamp block and use the smallest water painter to add yellow to areas you would like to highlight or to mix to green.
Use this brush to add Azure Afternoon to images you would like to be blue.
Use the heat tool to dry your paper.
Card construction: When watercolour paper is thoroughly dry adhere 10 cm x 10 cm squares to the 10.5 cm x 10.5 cm squares. Adhere the 7.5 cm x 10 cm watercolour piece to the right-hand side of the inside of the card.
Apply a line of glue between the 9.5 cm and 10.5 cm score line. Adhere your front 10.5 cm x 10.5 cm card piece.
Repeat a line of glue between each score line and adhering each decorated square, until all have been adhered.
Cut a 13.5 cm x1.5 cm Azure Afternoon. Measure 9 cm in from the right-hand side of the card base and apply a dab of glue to the back of the card. Adhere about a 1 cm tab of the Azure Afternoon strip. Fold it over from the top to the bottom, running inside the card, fold over at the bottom and adhere the tab with a dab of glue. No glue should be applied inside the card! This is the guiding mechanism for the waterfall card effect.
Take the bottom card front layer and feed it under the strip you just made.
Optional to stamp the little pull tab and glue to the back of the card base.
Complete the card by adhering the 10.5 cm x 15 cm watercolour paper layer onto the back of the card, which covers the tabs and the pull tab.

Make A Guy Birthday Card Using Sea Turtle Stamp Set

Hello lovelies! I am sharing how to make a guy birthday card using Sea Turtle stamp set with you today.

Can we call this ombré?

Surely it fits the style of ombré? I mean it goes through a series of lovely blues, dark to light. Is that what ombré is? Maybe some of you wiser than me creatives can drop a comment below to tell me!

Make a guy birthday card using Sea Turtle stamp set

For this card I have gone with a standard card fold.

First, you stamp the bubble image from the Sea Turtle stamp set straight onto the card base.

Now, if you are worried about ruining an entire card base because of a bit of dodgy stamping, I suggest cutting a 14.3 cm x 10 cm layer.

I was in too much of a rush as I was very excited about inking up a new stamp set and stamped straight onto the card base. I discovered there was a small learning curve with the bubble image from this stamp set. It took a few goes to get the pressure right. I am so glad I decided to use my stamp positioning tool!

My ombré colour choice (from dark to light) were Stampin’ Up! ink pads Blueberry Bushell, Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Azure Afternoon and Balmy Blue.

I finished by stamping HAPPY BIRTHDAY in Blueberry Bushell.

The ‘happy birthday’ words came from the Biggest Greeting stamp set.

What you need

The Cajun Craze colour from Stampin’ Ups!® Regal colour family is our focus and I colour coordinated with an Early Expresso card base and layers. The layer has been decorated with patterned paper from He’s The Man and several images from the pre-cut image sheet.

You’re A Classic Card Recipe

It really is an easy card to make. Follow the instructions below.

Begin with an Early Expresso standard card base.
Cut a 14.3 cm x 10 cm Cajun Craze card stock layer.
Cut a 13.8 cm x 9.5 cm Sahara Sand card stock layer.
Cut a 13.3 cm x 9 cm patterned paper layer. I used the Cajun Craze car image sheet.
Cut a 12.3 cm x 8 cm Early Expresso layer.
Layer this with Basic White card stock 11.8 cm x 8.5 cm.
Adhere the ‘file paper’ image die cut to the Basic White, over hanging to the Sahara Sand layer.
Adhere the car image to the bottom right.
Mat the banner piece with Cajun Craze and adhere the ‘You’re A Classic’ image.
Foam mount this to the top left of the card, over hanging several layers.
Colour three pearls with a Basic Black Stampin’ Blend and adhere along the bottom right edge of the card topper.

Let’s Set Sail Mini Farewell Male Card

Hello! I’ve snuck in some crafting on a recent long weekend and the Hearts & Home Cards & Envelopes card bases made the perfect canvas for some mini farewell male cards.

Moving away from the red dust and mud flats, where it was only possible to swim at high tide to the fine white sand beaches of home, has got me thinking of all things aquatic.

Middle son is back to sailing which inspired me to play with the Let’s Set Sail stamp set and punch bundle.

I paired the Let’s Set Sail stamp set with the Hearts & Home Memories & More Cards & Envelopes card pack and created this farewell male card using the mini cards.

The mini cards are sized 8.3 cm x 10.8 cm and have a wood grain design already printed onto them. I think that wood grain and the sailing boat are a match made in heaven!

Using a template and the Stamparatus I stamped the sailing boat image in Balmy Blue. I could then simply punch the entire image out.

On a 7.8 cm x 10.3 cm piece of Basic White card stock stamp the background image in Night of Navy to represent water. [TOP TIP: to lighten the ink colour, stamp it off onto scrap paper before stamping onto your card stock]

In Balmy Blue stamp the sentiment in the top right corner and use Night of Navy to stamp the birds in the top left corner.

Adhere foam adhesive strips to the back of the punched out sailing boat and sails. [TOP TIP: cut strips to fit behind the mast and along the hull]

Place the hull and mast in your desired position on the sea background.

Adhere the sails.

Turn the card base to landscape orientation, so it opens up from the bottom, and adhere your layer to the card base with multipurpose glue.

I love how this turned out. I hope it inspires you too!

Limited Cardmaking Supplies Challenge

Moving house across the state (2500 kilometres to be precise!) came with a few challenges, not withstanding the limited cardmaking supplies!

Challenge 1: When my job finished, so did our accommodation.

Challenge 2: Our family home was currently tenanted and the lease still had three months to go.

Challenge 3: Our belongings would need to be stored until we could move in.

They say “All good things come to those who wait.”

It was 2019 all over again but this time we knew it was happening.

A challenging class. No school stuff.

A strange house. No personal belongings.

Past experience has proven that having a crafty outlet is so good for my mental health.

Packing my ready-to-go bag of card making supplies was, in my mind, ESSENTIAL!

Limited Cardmaking Supplies List

I packed the Pattern Party patterned paper which also gave me my colour palette of ink pads and card stock to pack.

In went two stamp sets and co-ordinating punches, plus one label punch.

These limited cardmaking supplies would satisfy any crafting urges over the next three months…

…Until the January to June 2022 Mini Catalogue came out!

So many MUST-HAVE items! I HAD to add the Rainbow Of Happiness stamp set, Let’s Set Sail bundle and the Heart & Home Memories & More Cards & Envelopes pack.

And of course I HAD to add the Rainbow patterned paper which came free during Sale-A-Bration.

I’ve managed to have three crafting sessions since returning to my hometown. One on my own in our accommodation and two with my old crafting group at their home.

I played with the Rainbow Of Happiness stamp set and co-ordinating patterned paper in my first session.

At my second session I made these cute cards using the Let’s Set Sail stamp set and the small card bases from the Heart and Home card pack.

The striped card in the Heart and Home Memories & More Cards & Envelopes pack was my next source of inspiration for my third session. I really love the Let’s Set Sail stamp set, especially with the background stamp Gentle Waves.

Best Male Thank You Card for Father’s Day

Male thank you cards are notoriously difficult to find, so why not make your own!

Male Thank You Card Recipe Preparation

Cinnamon Cider card stock A-frame card base.
14.5 cm x 10 cm Granny Apple Green Pattern Party patterned paper.
14.5 cm x 10 cm Pool Party Pattern Party patterned paper.
10. 5 cm x 8 cm Basic White card stock.
Extra pieces of Basic White and Cinnamon Cider card stock.
Cinnamon Cider & Early Expresso ink pads.
Pale Papaya and Crumb Cake Stampin’ blends.
Whiskey Business stamp set.
Meadow dies – cut one leaf image in Cinnamon Cider.

Male Thank You Card Construction

Stamp the Whiskey decanter and glass in Early Expresso on the Basic White card.
Using Cinnamon Cider ink pad, stamp the sentiment on the spare piece of Basic White.
Colour the liquid inside the decanter and glass using the Light Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blend.
Using the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend highlight the shading on the decanter and the glass. Lightly go over the colouring in with Light Pale Papaya one more time to blend in any lines.
Cut the sentiment apart and apply dimensionals to the reverse side. Adhere to the images.
Using a distress tool, rough up the top and bottom edges of the Basic White layer. Rough up the top and left side only of the Pool Party Pattern Party patterned paper.
Glue at an angle onto the Granny Green Pattern Party patterned paper. Trim the Pool Party overhang.
Distress the top and left side only of the patterned paper layer.
Adhere the patterned paper layer to the card base, aligning the right and bottom edges flush with each other.
Spritz the Cinnamon Cider leaf with water and gently squish between fingers. Sponge a small amount on Cinnamon Cider ink on the edges of the leaves. Cut the leaf apart and adhere a large leaf to the top right and two more leaves at the bottom left, where they will peak out from under the Basic White layer.
Adhere Stampin’ Dimensionals to the reverse of the Basic White layer and adhere to the card front.

Stitched Stars Double Z Fold Card

I always try to do a new fancy fold for Eager To Stamp subscribers and this week I gave the Double Z Fold card a go. As August is the month of male birthdays in the Eager To Stamp household and Father’s Day follows closely behind at the beginning of September it made sense to make it masculine. This stitched stars double z fold card is a really easy card to make. As always I created the sizing so the card will fit into a standard sized envelope.

I have used the Plaid Tidings Cherry Cobbler plaid pattern layered onto black card stock on a Cherry Cobbler card base. Celebrate Sunflowers provided the right sentiment on the front, embossed in white. Whilst the stitched stars dies adorn the front in Just Jade, Pumpkin Pie and Mango Melody. A couple of sequins sprinkled here and there finish the card off.

Apply glue to the Cherry Cobbler card stock to prevent excess gluing! Adhere front panel of Black card stock to 7.3 cm section of Cherry Cobbler card stock, leaving an even border top, bottom and left side.Apply glue to the Black card stock to avoid over gluing! Adhere last panel of Black card stock to the larger back panel of Cherry Cobbler, leaving an even border at the top, bottom and right side.

Eager To Stamp Tip: Try this instruction out before applying glue and it will make sense when you commit to gluing!Emboss Mango Melody with Tasteful Textile embossing folder. Adhere detailed Pumpkin Pie star to Pumpkin Pie star base.Adhere Just Jade starry swirl to card front. Layer the stars and pop a few sequins on. Emboss with white embossing powder your sentiment onto Black card stock. Cut into seperate words and adhere to card front.I also popped a few Just Jade stars on an inside panel.
